Always dreamed of sharing an idea or passion on the big stage? Anyone can be a TEDx speaker - the first step is applying! We select speakers from a variety of backgrounds, industries, and levels of expertise in our region. Not super familiar with speaking in front of large crowds? Apply anyway - our selected speakers get the privilege of working one-on-one with a speaking coach leading up to the event in June.

Hear from 2025 TEDxJohnsonCity alumni in a dynamic panel discussion about what it takes to be a TEDx speaker. Have an idea for a TED talk? Bring your story and ideas for this interactive session where you’ll get one-on-one feedback, ask questions, and explore how to craft a compelling pitch. Applications for 2026 TEDx speakers open this fall; now’s the time to get inspired and get started.

We are excited for TEDxJohnsonCity's 4th year in the Appalachian Highlands! This year will not have a formal theme but instead highlight "special topics" from regional speakers across various disciplines.

Speaker applications open Sept. 1, 2025, sponsor opportunities become available in early 2026,

and tickets go on sale in April 2026.
